Döner is by far one of Germany’s biggest and most famous street foods, ever. Each day, many go by a döner stand and go for the captivating, easy, and filling döners whether they are a fan or not. Whether it’s a lunch break, or an after work treat, for some even a savior after a night-out, döner comes through everyone’s plate.  

However, not everyone might be thinking about the consequences of having döner so frequently. While it may be a rare to impossible scenario to have döner everyday, consuming the high carb street star a few times a week is a reality for most. And having such a high calorie, fat, carb, and filling meal for a few times in a week does not look that “appetizing” for one’s health. 

What actually happens if you eat döner frequently?

Around 500 tons of kebab is consumed in Germany in one day. That means some fans are in fact consuming döner quite regularly. Keeping a close eye on the Germany Döner Price Index is also a strong sign that one might be too involved with döner in general (though the price index also shines a light on inflation).

Eating döner frequently, if not every day would lead to quite the imbalanced diet. Soon one would show signs of malnutrition, proneness to cardiovascular diseases, unnecessary weight gain, lowered immune system defenses, potential financial loss (up to €240 a month), and a bad climate impact

The solution for döner lovers is simple and not so far away from their usual döner stand anyway. Changing their orders to vegetable options, falafel, or varieties in the same stands even can be a step towards a betterment of all the over-consumption symptoms
