Protein is a macronutrient, one the body needs to build and sustain muscle, to benefit the metabolism, support the strength of nails, hair, and more. Though the average meal should contain 25-30 grams of protein, most people do not meet the daily quota regularly. The best way to take protein in is to have it throughout the day with each meal (in the aforementioned amount), and not altogether during dinner. It’s common practice that a protein load is done during dinner, but it’s better for the body to have protein intake in different intervals during the day because the body does not store protein.

Warning signs you’re not taking enough protein

Most times, the lack of protein does not seem like the biggest cause for concern at first glance. Only when you start noticing multiple signs your body is not doing well, you think it’s time for a change or supplement. And most times, all the signs point to protein, or rather, the lack of protein in your diet. Here are some of the signs you might be missing that is related to low protein in your diet:

𓌉◯𓇋 You never feel full after meals

𓌉◯𓇋 Your wounds take too long to heal

𓌉◯𓇋 Your body is not building muscle, and the existing muscle mass is getting weaker

𓌉◯𓇋 You’re noticing more and more hair loss

𓌉◯𓇋 Your nails are weak and dry

𓌉◯𓇋 You get tired way too easy

Though these signs alone may not always point to a low protein diet, all of these together does strongly indicate lack of protein in your daily intake. Always good to look better into one’s protein consumption to see if these issues are rooted in the diet!
