Cottage cheese is TikTok famous, and producers can’t keep up
TikTok spotlight for cottage cheese is too fast for cheese production
As its TikTok fame grows bigger each day, Cottage cheese is experiencing the spotlight (perhaps too fast). More and more recipes that include this cheese go viral due to how easy and nutrition-packed the recipes turn out. Especially in food content, TikTok generally rewards easy recipes that are not a huge hassle, and promises packs of protein at a time.
In the past, cottage cheese has been mostly for the diet section of any menu it showed up in, or belonged to the kitchen of older generations. Today, consumers who are looking for low sugar, high protein, organic diet friendly recipes, have cottage cheese in their kitchens for sure, all thanks to the recent surges in TikTok cottage cheese recipes.
Cottage cheese’s rise to fame
Over the last year, cottage cheese sales have been experiencing a rise up to 20% more than the previous years and both store owners and cheese producers are surprised by the sale data. To keep up with its popularity, brands like Good Culture, Daisy Brand and more are acquiring more manufacturers and production spaces. However it’s not always easy to start production for the demand as quickly as possible, and most brands are promising a rise in products in the shelves early next year.
Cottage cheese reached this level of popularity with recipes that go viral (almost every week), and delivering the promised protein intake. Some examples are: Strawberry cheesecake ice cream (yes, with cottage cheese), juicy dips like this buffalo dip, cottage cheese bagels, and even biscuits for breakfast!
